Warwick Sevens Success

Warwick School was proud to host our annual Warwick School Sevens Tournament on Saturday, 8 March, the same date as the very first tournament that took place back in 1969.
On the gloriously sunny day, Warwick School welcomed 60 teams from England and Wales' top rugby schools for some competitive rugby in an exciting seven-a-side format on the glorious day.
For the U14, U15, and U16s, the tournament boasted Cup, Shield and Plate levels, with knock-out games following the initial pool stages. The U13s competed in a two-phase ‘waterfall’ format, providing all players with equal game time at an appropriate level.
It was a fantastic day with players, coaches, and spectators enjoying the terrific rugby on show. We were especially thrilled to see Warwick's U15 team win the U15 Cup, with the school also taking home the Freeborn Shield as the overall winners.
The results for each year group were:
U16
- Cup – Sedbergh School
- Shield – Shiplake School
- Plate – RGS High Wycombe
U15
- Cup – Warwick School
- Shield – Ysgol Bro Edern
- Plate – Ysgol Dyffryn Aman
U14
- Cup – Sedbergh School
- Shield – Wimbledon College
- Plate – King’s School, Worcester
Freeborn Shield - Warwick School
Well done to all the boys who took part, and a massive thank you to all those involved - referees, pitch managers, runners, ground staff, the catering team, and our estates team.
