Brass Monkeys

Brass Monkeys perform well known tunes in a friendly and inspiring environment. All musicians capable of performing five notes on their instrument and having a basic understanding of music notation are warmly welcome to join in the fun music making! We rehearse on Monday Mornings, 8am in the JS Music Classroom and this is open to pupils in Years 3-6.

Brass Ltd.

Brass Ltd. is a fantastic place for pupils in Years 7-9 to play a wide range of genres with their peers. It’s a fun ensemble where every individual can develop their overall musicianship and technical ability on their instrument, rehearsing on Monday lunchtimes (1.15pm) in the Recital Room.

Brass Company

Brass Company is the most elite Brass Band within the Warwick Schools Foundation and the ensemble to which every Brass musician aspires to be invited! Repertoire includes world famous Brass Band contest pieces, beautiful ballads and popular hits for all audience members to sit back and enjoy. Rehearsals are at 8am on Fridays in the Recital Room for pupils in Years 10 and above.

Fanfare Team

Fanfare Team has the honour of performing at a number of external engagements, including civic events attended by local dignitaries, Remembrance and carol services, alongside the usual concerts schedule in school. Consequently, this is for our most advanced trumpeters, who join together on Friday lunchtimes in the Recital Room.

The Undertones

The Undertones is Warwick's most advanced Lower Brass Ensemble. This group is coached in a chamber music style, enabling pupils to take the lead when rehearsing. The group performs both traditional brass music alongside some fun and upbeat melodies, rehearsing in the Keyboard Room on Tuesdays during lunch break.

French Horn Ensemble

The French Horn ensemble, led by our specialist French Horn teacher Miss Roper, is a popular and well-established group allowing all French Horn musicians to enjoy their instrumental studies and thrive. They rehearse at 8am on Tuesdays, led by our specialist Horn teacher.

Funk After 8

Funk After 8 holds a formidable reputation as one of Warwick’s most exciting and impressive ensembles. FA8 is an authentic New Orleans style brass band, who feel passionate about bringing the vibrant, soulful sounds of Mardi Gras music to life. Performing both in school concerts and in the local area, this ensemble rehearses on Wednesday mornings at 8am in the Junior School Music Classroom.
