Catering
As a catering department within the Foundation, our mission is to provide healthy nutritious meals for every pupil. We believe that lunchtime is an important part of the day and providing a well-balanced meal that promotes health and wellbeing both inside and outside the classroom.
Our vision is to raise awareness of sustainability through events and initiatives which promotes healthy eating and environmental issues. We want to ensure that all our staff can develop whilst managing resources in a responsible efficient and effective way.
We work hard to ensure that our menus follow the Department for Education’s School Food Plan which focus on actions to improve the health and academic performance of our children. The Head of Food Operations meet regularly with the Schools Food Councils to discuss menus, and ways we can tailor our service to meet their needs. All meals are produced fresh daily by our highly skilled teams, using locally sourced, seasonal produce wherever possible.
Our catering team of professional chefs cater for breakfast, lunch plus dinner for our boarders preparing around 3,500 meals per day. Pupils and staff are offered a range of choices including two main course options, a selection of salads, soup, dessert, fruit, yogurt. We also gladly cater for all special dietary requirements including protecting the school as a ‘nut free zone’. Our staff are fully trained on allergens and we work closely with pupils with specific dietary needs, whether that is gluten free, vegan, halal or in some cases just requiring a simple meal plan.
