Saxophonic

This saxophone ensemble explores a range of repertoire, rehearsing on Mondays at 8am in the Keyboard Room. For our most experienced saxophone players, this ensemble is by invitation only, but interest can be expressed to the Head of Woodwind.

Junior Saxophone Ensemble – Led by Daniel Buxton – Gr 3-5

This group is open to saxophonists around Grades 3-6. Comprised of pupils in Years 7-9, the JSE rehearse on Wednesday lunchtimes in the Recital Room. Anyone interested in joining should contact the Head of Woodwind know.

Senior Clarinet Ensemble – Led by myself – Gr 6-8

The Senior Clarinet Ensemble is an invitation only ensemble for Warwick School’s most excellent clarinet players in Warwick School. Led by the Head of Woodwind, the ensemble gathers on Wednesday lunchtimes in the Keyboard Room.

Clarinetricks – Led by Jane Mitchell – Gr 2-5

The clarinet ensemble for pupils in Years 7-9, pupils need to be able to read music and be working on or above Grade 2 level on their instrument. This group rehearses in the Junior School Music Room on Monday lunchtimes.

Bassoon Platoon

Warwick Schools’ Foundation’s answer to the national Bassoon shortage, this ensemble welcomes players from across the whole foundation to play through purposely-arranged repertoire that enables bassoonists of all ages and abilities to join together to have some reediculously (pun intended) good fun. Rehearsals for the boys take place on Tuesday lunchtimes in the Junior School Assembly Hall.

Flauté – Led by Jenny Argent – Gr 2-5

Rehearsing on Friday lunchtimes in the Keyboard Room, this is chance for flute players in Years 7-9 who are Grade 2-5 in standard to play specially composed and arranged music together.

Fluttissimo Led by Jenny Argent – Gr 6-8

For more experienced players of Grade 6+ level, this flute ensemble works on more professional standard repertoire on Friday lunchtimes.

Foundation Wind Orchestra Led by Mr Clarke Butler

The Foundation Wind Orchestra rehearses on Tuesdays after school in the Recital Room. The most experienced players will be invited, and interest for an audition can be made to the Head of Woodwind.
