Bringing Biopsychology to life

Lower Sixth Psychology students are currently delving into the fascinating world of Biopsychology, exploring the structures and functions of the brain.

To bring their learning to life, they had the unique opportunity to participate in a sheep brain dissection during their Psychology lessons this week.

Student Michael shared his thoughts on the experience:

"Dissecting the brain was one of the most unique experiences in psychology so far, as we could finally see everything we have been studying about in real life. It is a great opportunity for everyone that we were very lucky and grateful to experience".

Looking ahead, the department is excited to welcome Neuroscientist Dr. Guy Sutton once again for our annual ‘Brain Day’ on Tuesday, 24 June. Lower Sixth Psychologists will be off timetable for the day to engage in a series of captivating lectures exploring the intricacies of the brain.

In addition, Dr. Sutton will be delivering an after-school Encounter, open to future psychologists, parents, and any students with a keen interest in Neuroscience.
