Science Journal Club
Science Journal club has gone from strength to strength over the last year as our presentations went digital via Teams, with lockdown actually increasing the number of Year 12 and 13 attendees from Warwick School and King's High School.
We have had many well-researched, beautifully presented and professionally delivered talks on a varied range of interesting and thought-provoking topics.
These included:
The 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami, which explained the nature of how tsunamis form & the reasons behind the massive destructive power of this tsumani
The future of Genetic Engineering using CRISPR-cas9, an insight into this very new, media popular technique and its possible applications
Post-partum depression, which provided a very good overview of the many factors affecting this area of mental health and strategies to help more expectant mothers in the future.
One of the best features of our Science Journal Club is that all the speakers are our own students, and it is amazing to see them presenting and answering questions from the audience of their peers with confidence and authority.
