In the first week back after the February half term break, Year 9 Spanish pupils were transported back on holiday to a sunny Spanish holiday home thanks to another brilliant play from Onatti Productions.
The Theology and Philosophy Department are delighted to announce that Ptolemy (Upper Sixth) has been announced as winner of The Philosophy Garden's 'Write a Script' competition.
Saturday, 2 March saw the return of the Annual Warwick 7s rugby tournament.
Year 12 PE and Performance Support Pathway athletes had a trip to University of Gloucestershire to take part in the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) schools' competition. They took part in a range of physical tests to learn about how testing can be used to assess and enhance a range of physical qualities depending on their sport.
On Tuesday, 20 February, Warwick School’s Buglers were called back out into the local community. On this occasion, The Royal Naval Association hosted a service to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the sinking of HMS Warwick, held at the memorial inside the grounds of Warwick Castle.
On Friday, 9 February, the Warwick School Chapel Choir performed evensong jointly with the choir of Exeter College Oxford, in the wonderful setting of their Victorian college chapel.
Just before half term the school’s U18 sevens team travelled to Cambridgeshire to compete in the Northampton Saints 7s Competition. As a first run out of the new season, and with little 7s preparation, expectations were muted. However, the whole squad put in a fantastic effort throughout the day, improving game on game to reach the final vs Bedford Modern.
At U18 level the Academy season culminated in the Finals Day on Saturday, 17 February. Ollie was involved in the Midlands West match vs Saracens, and Diamond was involved in Midlands Central match vs London South & Central. Congratulations to them both for their selections, and also to Charlie who was also involved with Midlands West Academy this season.
On Thursday, 8 February, some of our most talented musicians had the fantastic experience of performing side-by-side with the professional Swan Orchestra at the ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ concert at Warwick Hall.
This year’s top Warwick School physicists in Upper Sixth were amongst 3,137 pupils from 482 schools in the UK to participate in the annual Senior British Physics Olympiad competition.
10 Warwick pupils took part in the first Swan Youth Orchestra course last weekend, including showcasing their musical talent at a fantastic concert on Sunday evening.
