GCSE results success for Warwick School pupils
Pupils at Warwick School are celebrating GCSE results today. In overcoming significant disruption to their school experience, this cohort have achieved excellent results alongside stunning co-curricular achievements in music, drama, sport, and more.
The school is extremely proud of our pupils, and of the staff who have done so much to support them and minimise the impact of the pandemic on their educational experience.
Head Master, Mr James Barker, commented, “Given the much-publicised return of GCSE grades to 2019 levels, this morning’s results were reassuringly consistent with Warwick School’s pre-Covid achievements. The fact that the percentage of A*/9-8 grades is higher than our 2019 equivalent is testimony to the courage and perseverance of pupils and staff, given the unique circumstances faced by this year group over the 5 years of their secondary education. We now look to the future and their Sixth Form years as we all work to ensure that this cohort leave us in two years’ time equipped to thrive at university, the world of work, and beyond.”
In 8 subjects, including Maths, Biology, Physics, History, and Chemistry, over 50% of pupils secured the top grade of an A* or equivalent 9/8.
Mr Richard Nicholson, Principal of Warwick Schools Foundation, commented: “I could not be more proud of the Foundation’s GCSE pupils. They have applied themselves with focus and determination, characteristics which have paid dividends with such outstanding results, ensuring that they are exceptionally well prepared for the next stage of their education. I hope that they and their families are truly proud of their achievements."
