Warwick pupils perform side-by-side with professional Orchestra
On Thursday, 8 February, some of our most talented musicians had the fantastic experience of performing side-by-side with the professional Swan Orchestra at the ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ concert at Warwick Hall.
The concert featured the gifted Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, who performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, while our pupils performed Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite alongside the Swan players.
The concert was held as part of the ongoing partnership between Warwick Schools Foundation and Orchestra of the Swan, with this partnership also facilitating this unique opportunity for our pupils.
14 Foundation students performed in the side-by-side performance, with nine from our school. Congratulations to Adam and Jamie (both horn), Ben A (percussion), Ben P (cello), Chris (trumpet), George (trombone), James (clarinet), Kyle (violin), and Nathaniel (oboe), who all performed excellently in front of a packed audience.
All of the students had worked extremely hard to prepare for the concert, and their performances were truly a credit to themselves.
The final concert of the season at Warwick Hall, ‘Songs of Innocence and Experience’, takes place on Thursday, 27 June.
