Xuefei Yang to perform Concierto de Arajuez at Warwick Hall – Neoclassic: Thursday, October 12
Neoclassic, the first of three Orchestra of the Swan concerts at Warwick Hall this year, is rapidly approaching.
The world-renowned soloist for this concert, Xuefei Yang, will be bringing her extraordinary talent to Warwick Hall on Thursday, 12 October where she will be performing the principal concerto; Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez. The concert will also feature well-known songs from Stravinsky, Albeniz, Tarrega, and Prokofiev.
Yang is one of Classical FM’s ‘top 100 classical musicians of our time’. She has been awarded widespread praise within the classical music space; Gramophone magazine noted that she has ‘total mastery of her own instrument’, whose playing ‘can best be compared to the spontaneity and control of a master calligrapher’.
She has also won numerous prizes in a variety of countries such as the Stotsen International Classical Guitar Competition and the San Francisco International Guitar Competition in the United States, the Ivor Mairants Guitar Award in the United Kingdom and the Darwin International Guitar Competition in Australia.
Yang’s incredible talent has seen her be invited to perform in more than 50 countries at numerous prestigious venues, and is frequently invited to play with the world’s leading orchestras.
We warmly invite all Foundation families to come along and see Yang perform alongside the Orchestra of the Swan – any pupil with an interest in guitar, be it classical or rock, should not miss this opportunity!
The concert will also see talented 34 Swan players perform in total, with Michael Collins as the conductor.
This is a unique and exciting chance to see Yang and the other Swan players perform here at the Foundation’s Warwick site on Thursday, 12 October. With less than 3 weeks to go, get your tickets now via the link below:
