Warwick School Partner With Warwick District Foodbank
At Warwick School, we pride ourselves on the educational and extracurricular programme that we offer our pupils. We are confident that they will achieve the best that they can both academically and in the orchestra; on the stage; on the canvas and on the fields. We are also committed to focusing on ensuring that our pupils leave us with a belief in their ability to contribute positively to society.
With this in mind, we have forged links with Warwick District Foodbank, supporting local families who are struggling to put food on the table. Every Friday, one year group will be asked to bring in contributions to the foodbank, dropping them off in the Hall foyer on their way into school. A volunteer from our Estates team will deliver the contributions to the warehouse ready for packing in the afternoon, assisted by a group of Sixth Form volunteers.
In this way, we hope to demonstrate both our responsibility towards supporting our local community and the ‘can do’ enthusiasm which we see every day in a Warwick School pupil.
The foodbank drop-off will begin on Friday, 11 November with Year 7, and we are asking pupils to please to drop the below items to the boxes in the foyer before they go to their form rooms:
Washing up liquid, deodorant, toilet roll, long-life milk, tinned stew/ chilli/ meat meals, tinned veg, cup soups, tinned/ carton custard, pasta sauce, microwavable rice packets. Please no fresh food as this cannot be stored.
Thank you very much for your support. We believe our pupils will gain an enormous sense of reward from taking part in this initiative.
