U15 Rugby - Wimbledon 7s runner up
On Sunday, 19 March, the U15 sevens side bounced back from the School Cup Semi final defeat against NSB to go one step further and reach a final!
They did come second best against a very good Bedford school side but did exceptionally well to finish in the top two against a plethora of top rugby schools in the country.
With only a week of sevens preparation and several injuries the group did themselves proud with the intensity and quality of play. It was a squad effort with Ned, Will, Ben and Tolly showing their speed and physicality to get past defences.
Fin and Tom were creating the chances for the team with Tommy, Alex, James and Charlie making sure they held our defence strong. The wins against Hampton and Trinity showed how good they can be.
The final didn’t quite go to plan but the team gave everything they could and achieved the target they had set of reaching the final. Benjie and Seb were picked out especially for their work at kick offs and “crunching” gameplay.
Mr Willis and Mr Hurst would also like to say thanks to all the parents who came along to support. Despite it being Mothers' Day they were on the touchline full of enthusiasm and good company throughout the day.
