A Strong Start to the Rugby Season
The Rugby season has finally got underway, and it has been an absolutely fantastic first few weeks of the season with over 450 boys representing the historic blue and white shirts.
The brief highlights have been 70 U12 players playing matches against Stamford School with the U12A winning comfortable in their first two matches of the season. George H, Sam I, Tom V, Niki M, Tom O and Billy B have all started very well for the U12s.
The U16As put in an outstanding performance to defeat Millfield on the 1XV pitch 22-19. Whilst the 2XV carried on their strong start, defeating Denstone 29-5 with a hat trick from Jeevan. The U14A defeated Whitgift 12 tries to 2 but then let the lead slip against Berkhamsted ending up in a draw, but have started very positively with Guy, Kieran and Oliver.
The strength of Warwick Rugby is not just our A teams but our CDE and even F teams. Well done to our U14C, U15C and D and U16Bs for strong starts to the season and our 3XV and 4XV both won well against Berkhamsted School in their first matches of the season.
The 1XV were disappointed not to get closer to Berkhamsted eventually losing 26-10 in a tight match. The team travels to Rugby School this week in the first round of the Schools Cup that Warwick has very strong pedigree. We wish the team the best of luck and all boys representing the school in the last two Saturdays of term.
