Message from Mr Bond: 17 February 2023
In assembly this week, I shared with the boys some details of the life of Galileo who was born on the 15th February 1564.
We discussed his discoveries and how they were not always met kindly by the people of the time. Whether it was his assertion that the Sun was the centre of our solar system or his investigations into gravity, we shared how sometimes people do not agree. Questioning assumptions is part of the learning process. Sometimes we will be right, sometimes we will be wrong and sometimes we may have to agree to differ, however what is important is that you treat others, and their opinions, with respect.
This week it was lovely to meet a number of parents at the PAWS coffee morning. For those of you aren't aware, the Parent Association of Warwick School (PAWS) has been re-established this year and the new committee are keen to recruit new members and work with parents to fund raise, network and organise social events for parents and their families. You will see below that PAWS have already started by organising a Second Hand Uniform Sale and there are a number of exciting plans afoot. If you would like to get involved or have any questions, do follow them on Instagram or contact the school office.
As I write, Mr Burchett has uploaded some wonderful photos of the Year 6 boys clambering around Snowdonia. The boys had a well deserved rest at the top of one peak! The feedback has been that they have had a wonderful time and I am sure we will hear more about their trip after half term.
I wish you all a very restful week and look forward to welcoming the boys back to school on Monday 27th February.
