Mr Bond’s Week in Review – 29 September 2023
I spent the first half of this week with Prep and Junior School Heads from across the country at the 2023 IAPS Heads Conference in Liverpool. Over three days, it was interesting to hear from a range of speakers on topics such as A.I, metacognition, the socio-economic outlook, diversity, problem solving and creativity. These occasions always provide valuable opportunities to talk to other professionals, exchange ideas and to listen to, and learn from, the experience of Heads in other schools.
This week saw the boys vote for their House Charities for the year. Further information can be found below. It is a wonderful opportunity for the boys to present to their peers and demonstrate their personal commitment to a range of charities and causes. Well done to all of those who took part in the presentations.
This week also saw all the year groups compete in rugby fixtures and at the time of writing Year 5 are preparing to join with members of the Foundation in celebrating the annual Foundation Service at St.Mary’s Church.
Earlier this week, we held the first Parents’ Evenings of the year, and they will continue over the coming weeks. I would encourage parents to take the opportunity to meet with their child’s teachers. If you are unable to make an appointment, please contact the school office.
Tomorrow, we will be welcoming almost 50 families to our Junior School Open Morning. The prefects have been busy practising their tours and a special thank you to all the boys attending the morning to showcase what being a ‘Warwick boy’ is all about.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
John Bond
