Message from Mr Bond: 12 May 2023
Last weekend, I joined many of you in watching the Coronation of King Charles III. It was fascinating to witness such a historical event and I am sure the images will be something your sons look back on in years to come.
Although the grandeur and ceremony - as well as the amazing light and drone show at the Windsor Castle concert - were incredibly memorable, it was wonderful to also see so many people and local communities spending the Bank Holiday volunteering and helping others. I know a number of boys and families got involved in voluntary projects and it is wonderful to read about some examples in the newsletter this week - well done boys!
It was also wonderful to walk into school last Tuesday to see your incredible generosity in donating toiletries for the Kissing it Better charity. Following the work of Wellington House in raising money for the Fairtrade charity last week, it is great to see the kindness of our community in supporting others - thank you.
Next week is a busy week, particularly for Year 6 who will be completing those last minute rehearsals for their performance of 'The Lion King Jr' on Thursday and Friday evening in the Bridge House Theatre. I would also like to remind parents about the PSHE meeting on Tuesday at 4.10pm in the Assembly Hall. Led by Mrs Shepstone, this will be a chance for parents to learn more about the PSHE and RSE programme in the Junior School.
I wish you all a restful weekend,
John Bond | Junior School Headmaster
