Oliver is back on his bike
Last summer Oliver started riding his bike longer distances than he was used to so he could try and raise money for the NHS. He managed to make over £2,000 which was amazing.
"Last summer I started riding my bike longer distances than I was used to so I could try and raise money for the NHS. I managed to make over £2,000 which I was proud of. When my Grandad told me that his village was trying to raise funds to refurbish Snitterfield Village Hall, especially the disabled toilets, I decided it was time to get back on two wheels and ride longer distances than I ever have done to see if I could raise some money to help out.
I set myself a goal of riding 45 miles in two weeks. When I decided to do this, I hadn’t thought about the weather. There’s been rain, sleet, wind, occasional snow and freezing temperatures. This has made pedalling really hard, but I’ve enjoyed seeing Warwick and Leamington on a bike rather than from a car window. I also managed to visit our school on my travels!
Today I managed to complete my challenge and I am pleased to say I have raised enough money to refurbish the disabled toilets. What this has taught me is when you set yourself a challenge, be determined to complete it. Some days I could have easily stayed in bed!"
